About me
Ted Stevens is the Education Director and Project Learning Tree state coordinator for the Texas Forestry Association. He has a passion for the outdoors that started on his family’s cattle farm and pine plantation in Nacogdoches County. He continued to foster his appreciation for the outdoors on high adventures with his Boy Scout Troop, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended the University of North Texas, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Communications/Management. During his senior year of college, he worked as an Outdoor Education Specialist with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, State Parks Division, where he helped start the statewide award-winning outdoor skills and camping program Texas Outdoor Family. He spent the next ten years with TPWD working in parks across the state and ultimately became a Park Superintendent/Park Police Officer. In 2019, he moved home to his family’s property in Nacogdoches to assist with its care/management and came on board with the Texas Forestry Association in January 2020. Ted also serves on the board of the Texas Children In Nature Network and is the Pineywoods Regional Leader. In Ted's free time he enjoys live music, traveling, camping, hiking, and kayaking with his wife Laura and their red heeler Loblolly.
